Miscreants early today set fire to a room of the house of a Hindu family in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria where the people of minority community have been living in fears following recent several attacks there.

Valuables including fishing nets stored inside the room have been torched around 5:30am, a correspondent reports quoting Abu Jafar, officer-in-charge of Nasirnagar Police Station.

One Chhottu Lal Das, a fisherman of Jele Palli (village of fishermen), is the owner of the house OC Jafar said.

The arson attack took place when an eight-member voluntary team formed to guard the village returned home.

On October 30, a group of religious zealots carried out a synchronised attack on the Hindus in Nasirnagar, vandalised around 100 homes and at least five temples and looted valuables over a Facebook post.
