Aman seedlings for flood-hit farmers

At least 480 flood affected farmers of four unions under Fulchhari upazila have received free aman seedlings for transplanting in their fields as agriculture rehabilitation.

The unions are Kanchipara, Udakhali, Gajaria and Uriya, where flood water remained stagnant for three weeks, damaging transplanted aman seedlings on vast tracts of land.

Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazley Rabbi Mia, MP, inaugurated the distribution of aman seedlings yesterday. Each farmer received seedlings for one bigha of land.

The DAE in the district undertook the distribution under the agriculture rehabilitation programme.
