47 rickshaws seized

Police seized 47 battery-run rickshaws in Mirzapur municipal area in Tangail yesterday to save electricity. The owners of the seized rickshaws, however, claimed that although the municipality authorities gave license at Tk 500 for each, the law enforcers seized their vehicles. Mohammad Main Uddin, officer-in-charge of Mirzapur Police Station, said the battery-run rickshaws were seized as huge amount of electricity was spent for charging these.
