30 houses for landless families

Thirty destitute and landless families under Bongram union in Sadullapur upazila have been allocated dwellings last week at Salaipur Ashrayan (cluster village) Project.

Assistant Commissioner (land) Abu Raihan Dolan, also a member-secretary of the cluster village construction committee, said the government allocated Tk 45 lakh to construct 30 houses under the cluster village project.

The dwelling were built on government khas land and each consisted with a tin-shed room, a tube-well for pure drinking water and a toilet on three decimals of land, added the assistant commissioner.

Project Implementation Officer Moniruzzaman said to avoid controversy they decided to go for an open lottery to select the beneficiaries among the 143 applicants.
