Use Ashura's spirit to restore democracy

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday urged people to instill holy Ashura's spirit to restore democracy in Bangladesh and termed exemplary the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA), a grandson of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in Karbala for truth and justice.

In a message signed by BNP Spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon marking the holy Ashura today, she said, "Every person's duty is to be vocal against unjust acts, injustice and misdeeds as taught by Islam.

"As a follower of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) it is our duty to put up a strong resistance against any anti-people regime, its misdeeds and misrule," she said.

She claimed Bangladesh was passing a bad time amidst injustice and misdeeds as there was no possibility of being served justice here.
