Demostic help, another 'raped' in capital

A retired civilian staff of the army was arrested on Thursday after a fifteen-year-old girl filed a case alleging he had raped her on several days after employing her as a domestic help this month in his Monipuripara residence in the capital's Tejgaon.

The girl has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for the collection of evidence while the 57-year-old arrestee has been sent to jail, said Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) (investigation) ABM Moshiur Rahman.

In another incident, a 20-year-old girl was admitted to DMCH yesterday on being raped allegedly by the neighbour of a relative she had come to visit in Dakkhin Khan's Faidabad from Barisal several days back, says DMCH sources.

The accused is on the run, said Dhakkhin Khan Police Station OC Shamim-ur-Rashid Talukdar, adding that they heard he had forcibly taken her into his residence before raping her and that there has been no complaint.
