Prime Bank organises ‘Empowering Youth Season 2.0’ at UIU

Prime Bank PLC yesterday organised another session of its flagship programme, “Empowering Youth-Season 2.0”, at United International University (UIU) in Dhaka.

The event brought together industry leaders and aspiring graduates to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world.

Rup Ratan Pine, executive director (Grade-I) of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Addressing the students, he underscored the importance of academic results as well as extracurricular involvement in securing strong career opportunities in both the government and private sectors, including at Bangladesh Bank.

He also encouraged students to take advantage of Bangladesh Bank’s student banking facility to build sound financial literacy and savings habits early on, laying the groundwork for long-term financial stability and independence.

M Nazeem A Choudhury, additional managing director and head of the consumer and SME banking division at Prime Bank PLC, delivered the keynote speech on employability and the essential skill sets needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

Drawing from his own career journey, he shared candid reflections on the challenges he faced and the critical decisions that shaped his path, offering students a rare, real-world perspective on how resilience and sound judgment can turn obstacles into stepping stones to leadership.

Prof Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice-chancellor of UIU, presided over the programme.

Prof Salma Karim, director of the BBA Programme at UIU, and MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at Prime Bank PLC, were also present, along with other officials from both organisations and students.
