Today (December 16) marks the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's victory in the Liberation War. On this day in 1971, freedom fighters of the nation snatched victory from the Pakistani army. People gathered at the Jatiya Smriti Shoudho today to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Teenager who went to avenge his father

The youngest gallantry award recipient of Bangladesh is Bir Protik Abu Salek. Abu Salek of Hasimpur village in Dharkhar union of Akhaura Upazila of Brahmanbaria was a sixth grader in 1971.
