April 4, 1971: Pakistani army, with the aid of Urdu speaking non-Bengalis started killing Bengalis en masse. On April 19, they killed martyred intellectual Mostafa Hassan Ahmed, then assistant teacher of Lalmonirhat Railway CP School.

Although he was not directly involved in politics, Mostafa maintained close relations with progressive parties, cultural organisations and activities.

During this glorious 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence, Star Special remembers the life and sacrifice of this martyred intellectual.
