Are Hilsha farmers getting fair share of rations during ban?
Hilsha fishing, selling, and transporting have been banned for two months in six Hilsha sanctuaries. At least six lakh families from six districts are dependent on Hilsha fishing. The government allotted 40kg rice for each of these families per month. However, there are allegations that the affected fishermen are not even getting the allotted rice even as months pass by.

Why are legunas still plying on roads?
Legunas or similar vehicles as human haulers have been a leading cause of numerous accidents on the roads. Minors are being employed as drivers and the passengers are often harassed about fares. In Bangladesh, there is no government policy controlling the movement of such vehicles, hence the owners are free to be arbitrary. Passengers are left with no alternatives if they have any issue with the services.
