Kobi Gaan: A dying art form?

Ranjit Kumar Sarkar is a Kobial, a singer-songwriter belonging to a Bengali folk artform, 'Kobi Gaan', where poets write and perform songs. He has seen this artform waning -- from nearly hundred and fifty events every year to just fifty in the best of times -- in his hometown in Ghior upazila of Manikganj.
