Country's salt production expected to break 62-yr record

The range of salt farming in Cox's Bazar is expanding as farmers are making profits using new technologies in the production process like the polythene method. Import prohibition also helped them.

According to the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), they are now producing more than 10,000 metric tons of salts each day from approximately 66,000 acres of land.
