Ceasefire in Gaza: US vetoes move at UNSC

The United States has blocked a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and the unconditional release of hostages.

The United Arab Emirates, a non-permanent member of the Security Council, tabled the proposal.

The resolution was co-sponsored by at least 97 countries.
