Are hospitals a major source of fatal infections?

A joint study by icddr,b and the Directorate General of Health Services, conducted across 11 tertiary-level hospitals in Bangladesh, has found that none of the hospitals collect any data on hospital-acquired infections and infection control on their premises.

Cases of hospital-acquired infections are high, and often are the reason behind deaths in ICUs, CCUs, and HDUs.
