Bangladeshi weightlifter Marzia Akter Eqra has brought glory to the nation by winning a bronze medal at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Saudi Arabia.

Eqra secured the third position in the 53kg women's weightlifting category, earning Bangladesh its first medal in the prestigious multi-nation event.

She lifted a total of 163 kilos – 72 kilos in snatch and 91 kilos in clean & jerk.

This year's edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games featured 57 participating countries, with eight nations competing in the 53kg weight class. Turkey emerged as the gold medallist, while Indonesia claimed silver.
