Bangladeshi weightlifter Marzia Akter Eqra has brought glory to the nation by winning a bronze medal at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old Li beat Theerapong Silachai of Thailand by 7kg with Hampton Morris of the United States third, another 5kg back.

Three weightlifters, including SA Games gold medallist Mabia Akter Simanta, left the capital last night to take part in the Asian Weightlifting Championships, starting today in South Korea.
