In Pictures: Paltan hosts Baishakhi games fest
The spirit of Pahela Baishakh came alive at Paltan Maidan in the capital today as the “Cute Baishakhi Krira Utsab 1433” unfolded with a vibrant showcase of Bangladesh’s traditional rural games.
The day-long event, scheduled to end at 5:00pm, drew participants and spectators of all ages, celebrating heritage through a series of lively competitions and exhibitions. From crowd-favourite contests to nostalgic village games, the festival offered a colourful glimpse into the country’s rich sporting culture.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque attended the event as the chief guest.
With a festive atmosphere, cheerful participants, and enthusiastic crowds, the event turned Paltan Maidan into a hub of celebration, blending sport with tradition on the first day of the Bengali New Year.
