Neymar no longer wanted by PSG: report
A report emerged suggesting that the ownership of Paris Saint-Germain no longer wants Brazilian superstar Neymar as part of their squad.
This news comes hot on the heels of the French side's 3-2 aggregate loss to Real Madrid that saw them exit the Champions League.
According to journalist Romain Molina, via Get French Football News, the owners 'want rid' of Neymar, which is far more hurtful than just wanting to sell.
The timing of the news is particularly interesting with Kylian Mbappe expected to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, with his contract expiring.
Neymar made a scintillating 222m euros move from Barcelona to PSG back in 2017 and was thought of as the man, alongside Mbappe and Lionel Messi, PSG lured to get their hands on the elusive Champions League trophy.
However, PSG's best result at the European competition so far was when they finished runners-up in 2020 after losing to Bayern Munich 1-0 in the final.
PSG seemed all set to cruise to the quarterfinals of the Champions League as they were leading 2-0 on aggregate at halftime in their second leg last 16 fixture against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, a magical quickfire hat-trick by French striker Karim Benzema turned the tie around with Real emerging winners by knocking PSG out of the tournament.
The defeat to Real also could see a complete overhaul of PSG as reports also claim that the club is also expected to get rid of coach Mauricio Pochettino.
