Muktijoddha strike late to beat Swadhinata
For the first time in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra grabbed all three points when they came from behind to beat newcomers Swadhinata Krira Sangha at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj today.
After an uneventful first half, Swadhinata, who stunned defending champions Bashundhara Kings in the opening match of the league, went ahead in the 54th minute with a strike from Bosnian striker Nedo Turkovic.
However, the lead lasted for 26 minutes as defender Hasan Murad scored an own goal to allow a Muktijoddha fightback.
And three minutes later, centre-forward Tetsuaki Misawa struck the winning goal to lift Muktijoddha with a maiden win, after having suffered four consecutive defeats earlier.
