‘Man United, Real interested to collaborate with Kings’
Manchester United and Real Madrid showed interest in jointly working with Bashundhara Kings football academy, said Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan during the inauguration of the Bashundhara Kings arena this afternoon.
"We will have a football academy featuring 1000 budding players and not only Manchester United but also Real Madrid showed their interest to run a franchise with us. As we still need a one-and-half year to complete the Bashundhara Sports Complex, we haven't responded with a final decision yet but we are hoping to take a decision before the completion of the academy," said Sobhan before Bashundhara Kings hosted Bangladesh Police FC for the very first time at their own venue.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inspired me the most because sport is a tool through which you can brand the country. I would like to request the Prime Minister to ask all businessmen to brand the country through sports," said Sobhan. "The information on constructing Bashundhara Sports Complex has already reached Europe and America and I believe when the complex will be ready, you all will be proud of it."
"The complex will have grounds for football, cricket, hockey, basketball, volleyball, athletics, etc as well as the complex would have grounds for women athletes, who are our country's pride," Sobhan added.
