Covid hits U-18 women's team ahead of SAFF opener
One player and two team officials of Bangladesh U-18 women's football team tested positive for Covid-19 upon their arrival in Jamshedpur, India on Saturday evening.
The team, which is supposed to take part in SAFF U-18 Women's Championship starting on March 15, had their tests done on Saturday evening, the results coming on Sunday afternoon.
The results showed two officials and one player testing positive, even though the names were not disclosed by the Bangladesh Football Federation.
A message from BFF said all the members are asymptomatic and will take another round of tests, the timing of which will be decided on Monday.
Bangladesh are supposed to take on Nepal in their opening match on March 17. India are the other team of the tournament. Each team will play twice against the two others, with the top point-getter to be declared champions.
