Bangladesh will aim for a consolatory strong finish when they face Australia in the final game of their three-match WODI series on Wednesday at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.

The hosts have already secured the series with dominant seven- and nine-wicket victories. Australia’s batters ruthlessly exposed the gap between the two sides, chasing down Bangladesh's totals in just 25.4 and 28.1 overs.

Despite the heavy defeats, Bangladesh have found a much-needed silver lining in their consistently fragile batting lineup. After managing 166 runs in the series opener, the visitors posted a vastly improved 220 for six in the second match.

The innings was anchored by a historic performance from Sobhana Mostary, who struck 118 off 134 balls to record the highest individual WODI score by a Bangladeshi batter. She combined with skipper Nigar Sultana Joty, who finished unbeaten on 74, to forge a record-breaking 195-run partnership.

Speaking on Tuesday, batter Sharmin Akhter Supta emphasized the importance of capitalizing on the Australian conditions to close out the tour.

“Tomorrow is our last match. Playing in such conditions is a great opportunity, and we want to finish the series with a good knock,” Sharmin said.

“We have areas to improve across batting, bowling, and fielding. In the last match, our batting was really good, and we want to carry that performance forward. If we can back that up in the bowling and fielding departments, we can finish the series on a high note.”
