Shakib goes unsold yet again

Star Sports Report

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan went unsold on Sunday, this time from the unsold players' list, during the second day's bid of the two-day IPL auction in Bengaluru today.

The all-rounder, who had a poor season with the KKR last season was not bought by any team during yesterday's first round of bids for all-rounders. Shakib's name was brought up today once more but there were no takers. The all-rounder however has been in fantastic form in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, picking up a record five man-of-the-match awards on the trot.

Shakib has so far played in 71 IPL matches, scoring 793 runs and bagging 63 wickets. The all-rounder's name was registered for the first time in the IPL in 2009 but had no takers. National commitments saw him make himself unavailable in the 2013 edition of the tournament while he could not take part in the 2020 edition of the tournament due to a ICC ban.

Ace Bangladesh left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman was roped in by Delhi Capitals for the base price of two crore rupees yesterday. The names of three other representatives from Bangladesh in Liton Das, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam did not come up in the auctions as no franchises had named them in their list.
