Papon congratulates SAFF U-20 champions

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon congratulated the Bangladesh U-20 women's side on behalf of the BCB after the team defeated Nepal 3-0 in the final to lift the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship.

"This victory is another shining proof that our women's football teams are the best in South Asia," a press release quoted Nazmul as saying.

"The win is a continuation of the good work from last year's SAFF Championship triumph of the senior side. I have no doubts that performances like this will inspire and encourage women in all sports in Bangladesh," the quote further read.

Shaheda Akter Ripa and captain Shamsunnahar scored the two goals within a space of four minutes of the first half before Unnoti Khatun rounded up the scoring with the third and final goal as the U-20s stamped their authority in South Asia's age-group football, winning their fourth title in eight tournaments played.
