Liton achieves country-highest ranking

Star Sports Report

Liton Das has climbed to the 12th position in the ICC Test batters rankings and in doing so, the wicket-keeper batter became the first Bangladesh player to have reached the landmark.

Liton's brilliance with the bat in the two-Test series against hosts New Zealand earlier this year took him past Tamim Iqbal, who reached as far as the 14th spot in 2017.  The elegant right-hander scored 86 in the only innings that he batted in the first Test against the Kiwis before notching his second Test ton in the final match of the tour. With an average of 65.33, he scored a total of 196 runs for the Tigers in the series.

According to the latest Test batters rankings, Liton moved up to two places with 683 rating points.
