Joty radiates confidence ahead of India clash

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty was oozing with confidence ahead of their match against India in the ICC Women's World Cup at the Seddon Park in Hamilton tomorrow, scheduled to begin from BST 7 am.

According to Joty, her troops in red and green are taking inspiration from their good displays against India in the T20 format despite having lost all four 50-over matches against the women in blue.

"We have more experience of playing T20 against India. And I would say that we have a good record against them in T20," Joty said in a pre-match press conference today.

"After winning the Asia Cup in 2018, we have a different mood while playing against them. Basically, I think that we have a lot of experienced players in our team who have played them before," the skipper added.

Furthermore, Joty believes their experience of beating Pakistan in the same venue will come handy against a formidable India side.

"We've been here for many days and we know about the wickets as well. Since we played in Hamilton last time against Pakistan, we have an idea about the wicket. I think we can do well in the match," said a confident Bangladesh captain.

After a historic first-ever World Cup win by beating Pakistan, Bangladesh also showed tremendous character in the next match as the West Indies narrowly edged past the Tigresses by four runs.

"Yeah, it was disappointing to lose the match against West Indies but we are now thinking about the next match. We still have three more games left. So, we just want to focus on that. We want to come back in the next match," Joty said further.

Bangladesh, who lost three and won one match so far, will play two more matches after tomorrow's game: against Australia on March 25 and England on March 27.
