Bolt on top after semis

Usain Bolt found himself atop in a familiar position, atop the leaderboard, as the semifinals of the men's 100m sprint concluded. 

Cruising to a win in his semifinal in 9.86 seconds Semifinal 1, the Jamaican was 0.06 seconds ahead of his nearest rival on the standings, Canadian Andre De Grasse -- who faced off against Bolt. 

Justin Gatlin found himself in third place overall, despite besting Yohan Blake in the Semifinal 3.

Semifinal 1 winner, Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut, with a time of 9.95 seconds, was fourth in the standings.

The final will begin at 7:25 BST.
