Manchester City agree Enzo Fernandez deal with Chelsea
The Athletic reported that Manchester City have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign midfielder Enzo Fernandez for £125million.

The proposed move to the Etihad Stadium brings to an end what has been a drawn-out saga surrounding the 25-year-old and his future in west London.

It's the same Liverpool paid Newcastle for Alexander Isak on this very day last year.

Jesus joins Barcelona from Arsenal for reported £8.5m

Barcelona have completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, with the Catalan giants reportedly paying around £8.5 million for the Brazilian striker.

“Barcelona and Arsenal have reached a deal for the Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus,” the Spanish club said in a statement.

Jesus arrives to bolster an attack weakened by the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres earlier this summer.

Barcelona had been prepared to end the transfer window without signing another recognised number nine, with winger Raphinha scoring five goals in three games while operating through the middle. However, they ultimately opted to bring in Jesus.

“I was a little surprised we had the opportunity to get him,” Barcelona coach Hansi Flick told reporters on Monday after Barca thrashed Rayo Vallecano 5-2 in La Liga, a match Jesus watched from the stands at Camp Nou.

“I really love him. I like his style of play. It fits with our style. I think he can help us a lot in the games."

PSG sell Ibrahim Mbaye to Aston Villa for £47m

Two-time European champions Paris Saint-Germain have sold Ibrahim Mbaye to Aston Villa in a deal reportedly worth around £47 million.

The Senegal forward joins Villa on a permanent transfer, with both clubs confirming the move.

The 18-year-old, a product of the PSG youth academy, already has 15 caps for Senegal and became the youngest African player to score at the World Cup this summer in a 3-1 defeat against France.

Two years ago, he also became PSG's youngest player to make his Ligue 1 debut, aged 16 years, six months and 23 days.

Mbaye won eight trophies with PSG, including two Champions League titles, two European Super Cups and two French league titles.

Newcastle sign Fernandez-Pardo in £51m deal

Newcastle United have signed winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for £51m, which takes their summer spending to £275m.

The 21-year-old Belgian international forward joins on a long-term contract and becomes the club's eighth arrival of the transfer window. 

Sanchez set to complete Como move

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has arrived in Italy ahead of his proposed loan move to Como.

The Spaniard is set to undergo a medical before signing for the Italian club, managed by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

Sanchez lost his place in the Chelsea side following the signing of Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa. He would have been reduced to a third or fourth-choice role had he remained at Stamford Bridge.

Moussa Diaby rejoins Bayer Leverkusen for reported £23m

Former Aston Villa and France winger Moussa Diaby has rejoined Bayer Leverkusen from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad on a deal running until 2031.

German media reported that Leverkusen paid around £23 million to bring the 27-year-old back to the BayArena.

“When the request came and the move was possible, I didn’t doubt it for a second,” Diaby said in a statement.

“The club has gotten bigger in the meantime. Aiming for titles with Leverkusen is a very big goal of mine.”

The rapid winger scored 31 goals and provided 37 assists in 125 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

He made his France debut while at Leverkusen and went on to earn 11 caps, with his last international appearance coming before Euro 2024.

Spurs midfielder Sarr joins Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has joined Juventus on a season-long loan.

The agreement includes an obligation to buy for £25.6 million if certain performance-related conditions are met.

Manchester City's proposed Gakpo move set to collapse

Manchester City's proposed move for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo is reportedly close to collapsing.

British media reported on Monday that Gakpo, who had also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, was open to joining City after Liverpool had been heavily linked with PSG's Bradley Barcola and completed his signing later in the day.

However, Liverpool reportedly want to bring in another player if Gakpo leaves, and the Reds now appear likely to retain the Netherlands international unless a fresh agreement can be reached before the deadline.

City were reportedly prepared to pay £80 million for the 27-year-old.

Arsenal announce Fabio Vieira's permanent Hamburg move

Arsenal have confirmed that attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira has joined Hamburg on a permanent deal.

Vieira joined Arsenal in 2022 but subsequently spent two seasons on loan at Porto and Hamburg.

British media reported that Hamburg paid approximately £8.5 million for the Portuguese midfielder.

Manchester United still in talks with Leicester over Page

Manchester United remain in talks with Leicester City over the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Louis Page, according to Sky Sports News.

As things stand, United will reportedly need to offer more than £8 million to meet Leicester's valuation.

Leicester are understood to be mindful of Page's age and their duty of care towards the teenager.

United are keen to complete the deal before the deadline, but time is becoming an issue, with significant work still required before a full agreement can be reached.
