Tigers get new fielding coach

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Ryan Lyall Cook as the new fielding consultant of the national team. Cook will join the Bangladesh Team in Jamaica from Friday. 

The BCB said in a press release on Wednesday that it has appointed the South African till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England.  

Cook is currently the head coach and the High Performance director of the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy in Cape Town. He is also the assistant coach of Hobart Hurricanes in Australia's Big Bash League. He has also worked as the assistant coach of the South Africa A team, a role he also performed for South Africa Under-19 during the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh.  

Since the resignation of assistant and fielding coach Richard Halsall back in March this year the post for the Tigers' fielding coach remained vacant.

It was also learned that another former South African cricketer, Neil McKenzie, is all set to join as the Tigers batting coach ahead of the three-match ODI series in West Indies later this month.
