‘Good to see those wickets back in West Indies’

Tigers' head coach and West Indies legend Courtney Walsh was back at his home ground in Sabina Park, Jamaica and he reiterated jokingly that maybe he retired too early since wickets with pace and bounce are coming back to West Indies.

Tigers had a fatal start to the West Indies series as they were bundled out for their lowest ever total in an innings, bowled out for a meagre 43 in the first innings of the first Test at Antigua.

"It's the same as what we got in Antigua. It was green, seaming and with a bit of bounce. We are expecting the same, grass and a bit of carry," he replied when asked what kind of wicket the team were expecting for the second Test.

"Good to see those wickets back in West Indies. Probably I retired too soon," he added jokingly.

Regarding his message to his own bowlers, Walsh replied: "To focus on being a lot more consistent and it's a good opportunity for the fast bowlers to put their hands up. The game is at Sabina Park and all the information that I can give, I will pass it onto them.

"Hopefully we can execute in the middle and it's good to be back home. I am looking forward to this Test match"

He also said that after the first Test where Tigers lost by an innings and 219 runs, this was Bangladesh's 'chance of bouncing back' and play as well as they can.

Walsh, who has the northern bowling end of the Sabina venue named in his honour, will be hoping that his pupils can make amends in a wicket where things will be just as difficult as the first Test.
