Farmer dies in lightning strike

A farmed died after being hit by lightning at Kashipur village in Kurigram's Phulbari upazila yesterday noon.

The dead is Aftar Uddin, 52, of the upazila, said Fazlur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station.

He was harvesting paddy alone in his field when the incident happened, he added.

On information, police went to the spot, recovered the body and handed it over to the victim's family members.
