Madrasa fined for cutting hill
A team of Department of Environment (DoE) fined the authorities of Jamel Ulum Darul Madrasa Tk 3.08 lakh for cutting hill.
The madrasa, run by Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury, president of a faction of Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ), was asked to pay the fine in three days.
The team found the madrasa was constructing a road around the area through cutting hill.
The department also summoned the authorities of Power Plus to be present in DoE on March 18, a real estate company, as they involved in constructing the road and development works of the madrasa.
