PM to inaugurate two Sylhet power plants Mar 24
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Sylhet on a daylong tour on March 24 to inaugurate a number of development projects, including two power plants.
According to schedule, the premier will lay the foundation stone of Shahjalal Fertiliser Factory in Fenchuganj at 10:30am, official sources said.
The factory is being constructed at a cost of Tk 5,409 crore.
She will inaugurate the second unit of the 90MW power plant in Fenchuganj at 11:00am, and 150MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at Kumargaon in Sylhet at 11:45am.
In addition, Sheikh Hasina, also chief of the ruling Awami League, is scheduled to join a meeting at Sylhet Circuit House on development activities of the region at 2:30pm.
She will address a public meeting at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground at 3:00pm and visit the mausoleum of great saint Hazrat Shahjalal (R) in the city.
The March 24 visit will be Sheikh Hasina's first tour to Sylhet since her assuming power after the 2008 elections.
