Prof Yunus mourns launch victims
Nobel laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus has condoled with people who have lost their near and dear ones in Tuesday's tragic launch capsize in Munshiganj.
"I am deeply saddened to learn about the ferry [launch] accident in the Meghna river, which has resulted in the loss of so many lives", he said in message yesterday.
The loss of just one life is devastating, but the scale of this tragedy will deeply affect hundreds of families, Prof Yunus said.
"I express my sincere condolence and wish for a speedy recovery of those who survived this tragic accident".
Death toll in the tragedy rose to 139 as rescue operation was underway yesterday.
