Promotion in admin given for dynamism

Prime Minister's Public Administration Affairs Advisor HT Imam said promotion in the civil service is an ongoing process and the government has given promotions in three tiers of the administration to make it efficient and dynamic.
“The promotion of 680 officers in the rank and status of additional secretary, joint secretary and deputy secretary has removed intricacies of promotion in the civil administration giving a shake-up in the bureaucracy to expedite implementation of development projects and digital Bangladesh as charted out in the vision 2021,” he told the news agency.
Mentioning service re-structuring in the administration in the 1980s by setting up upazila administration, he said many officers had been appointed in the civil service at that time. But there was no similar steps taken to reduce the gap between the high and other levels, the advisor said.
HT Imam regretted that the previous BNP-Jamaat alliance government had not taken any initiative to remove such promotion intricacies from the civil administration.
