Nine Shibir men held
Police arrested nine activists of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir from Sylhet and Habiganj yesterday.
In a drive, police arrested Osman Patwary, Raihan Uddin, Hossain Mohammad and Zaber Uddin from Moglabazar area in the city yesterday morning. They are studying in different colleges and universities in Sylhet.
With them, law enforcers have arrested around 50 in connection with the vandalism on Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (Sust) campus since January 11, police said.
Meanwhile, 10 Shibir activists were injured as police charged batons on their procession at Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj yesterday. Police arrested five Shibir men from the spot.
ASP Sirajul Huda said the five have been arrested as they vandalised some shops at Nabiganj.
