2 more Jamaat activists held
Police arrested two Jamaat-e-Islami activists from their houses in Dakkhin Surma upazila of the district early Thursday.
The arrestees are M Sadek Khan, 25, of Kaistarail village, and Billal Hossain, 30, of Barkhala village of the upazila.
Jalalabad police said they arrested the two in connection with a case filed by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on charges of attacking BCL men and vandalising vehicles on the campus on January 11.
With the two, a total of 23 Jamaat and Shibir activists have been arrested in six cases filed in connection with Sust violence following the arrest of ex-Jamaat Ameer Ghulam Azam.
