Son handed over to mobile court
Failing to bear torture any more, a man handed over his drug adduct son to a mobile court, which sentenced him to two years imprisonment on Wednesday.
Local sources said Kabir Thakur, 40, son of Atabor Thakur of Baro Dewanpara village in Sarail upazila, became a drug addict.
He used to beat his family members including his wife and children frequently. He often tortured his old father for money to buy drugs. His unruly bahaviour made all the family members annoyed.
On Wednesday morning, Kabir took drugs and beat his father and damaged furniture of the house. With the assistance of neighbours, the helpless father handed over his son to the mobile court.
The court, led by executive magistrate and upazila assistant commissioner (land) Mohammad Moniruzzaman, handed down the punishment.
