Bangladeshi held by BSF dies in India
A Bangladeshi detained by BSF in India near Darmagarh border under Ranishankoil upazila died on Saturday.
Sources said, Bhulu,35, son of Monsur Ali of Kochua village under Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon died at an Indian hospital.
His body is supposed to be handed over to BGB after a Company Commander level flag meeting at the zero point on Molani border, they said.
Commanding Officer of 20, BGB Battalion Lt Col Mahfuz Alam, quoting BSF officials told this correspondent yesterday that Bhulu was arrested by the BSF members of Kokradaha Camp at Udoypur village in India on 1 July near Darmagarh border under Ranishankoil upazila.
On 2 July, he was handed over to Indian police. After the handover, Bhulu complained of severe chest pain. Then he was brought to a hospital where he died on the same day.
On Sunday evening, BSF officials informed the mater to BGB through a letter.
Officials of 20, BGB Battalion strongly protested the matter and asked its Indian counterpart to give post mortem report with the body.
Lt Col Mahfuz Alam said they have asked local police to conduct a fresh autopsy after receiving the body to see whether it was a case of killing or normal death.
