Three outlaws held with arms

Three outlaws were arrested with firearms in Jhenidah and Kushtia districts early yesterday and on Tuesday night. In Jhenidah, police arrested a cadre of Purbo Banglar Communist Party (Janajuddha faction) at his from at Kotchandpur upazila headquarters at around 3:30am. They also recovered a shutter gun from his possession, according to our correspondent. The arrestee is Abul Kader Sheikh alias Rashed alias Sajib, son of Bismillah Sheikh of Kotchandpur bus stand area. Police said Sajib was wanted in five criminal case filed with different police station in the district. Officer in charge (OC) Faruk Hossain of Kaliganj Police Station said they, acting on a tip-off, raided the house of Sajib and arrested him in connection with a case filed with the police station. Our Kushtia correspondent reported that police arrested an outlawed party cadre at Hemayetpur village in Gangni upazila on Tuesday night and recovered a gun from his possession. According to police, they raided the village at around 8:30 pm and arrested Abbas Ali, 36, a cadre of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Lal Pataka). On his confessional statement, police later recovered a shutter gun from a hideout of the outlaws at the village. Police said Abbas is an accused in five extortion cases filed with Gangni Police Station.
