BCL factions clash at CU
Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) unit were injured in a factional clash on the campus yesterday.
The injured are Shahidul Islam, a third year student of mathematics department and Faruk, a fourth year student of history.
The clash ensued when activists of two rival groups of BCL locked into altercation at a tea stall near Arts Faculty Building at around 2:30pm, campus sources said.
The rival activists attacked each other with sticks and lethal weapons, leaving Shahidul and Faruk injured.
At around 5:00pm, a group of 20 to 25 activists beat up Shahidul near CU main gate, leaving him critically injured. The attackers fled as on duty police forces rushed there.
