Transport strike withdrawn

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi
Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation yesterday noon withdrew its indefinite strike hours after its enforcement as government high-ups assured them of meeting their demands. The decision came following one and a half hours long meeting between Rajshahi (acting) Divisional Commissioner Swapan Kumar Roy and leaders of northern regional committee of the federation at the commissioner's office in Rajshahi. Transport workers enforced the strike at 6:00am on all routes in 16 northern district to realise their 10-point demand, disrupting road communication between the districts and other parts of the country.
