Students block road
Angry students of THG High School in Bianibazar upazila town blocked Sylhet-Bianibazar road yesterday morning protesting alleged corruption of the school's managing committee.
Students alleged that the managing committee was trying to appoint a headmaster of their own choice. They said the committee is involved in corruption, which vitiated the academic atmosphere. The post of the headmaster remained vacant for the last three months, sources said. The OC of Bianibazar police station said he tried to pacify the situation but the agitating students said they will continue their movement until their demand is met. Meanwhile, acting headmaster of the school also resigned on Thursday centring the internal feud.
