13 Shibir men arrested in Moulvibazar
Police arrested 13 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) at a house in Teligul area at Baralekha upazila headquarter on Friday.
On receiving information that about 40 to 50 Shibir activists gathered at the residence of local Jamaat leader Abdus Shahid to bring out a procession over Babri Mosque issue, Baralekha police rushed to the spot and arrested 13 Shibir men while the rest managed to flee.
The arrestees are Juber Ahmed, 18, Hasan Ahmed, 20, Tariqul Islam 20, Qumrul Islam 20. Tarek Ahmed, 18, Sumon, 25, Sahedul Islam 19, Kefayet Ullah, 18, Jaynal Abedin, 20, Sijan Uddin, 21, Rubel Ahmed, 20, Tarek Ahmed, 22, and Abu Hasan, 21.
Amal Kumar Dhar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Baralekha Police Station, said they are quizzing the arrested Shibir activists and will take necessary action against them after investigation.
