Man beaten to death in Khulna
A man was beaten to death by a timber trader in the city's Shiromoni area yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman Gazi, 40; He hailed from an area under Khan Jahan Ali Police Station.
Sources said Abdur Rahman went to a timber shop of one Solaiman at Shiromoni Bazar at around 10:00am to purchase some timber.
He locked in an altercation with shop owner Solaiman over timber price. At one stage, Solaiman hit Rahman with a piece of wood, leaving him critically injured.
Rahman was rushed to Fultola Hospital and later shifted to Khulna Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
