25 hurt in clash in Manikganj
At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over the ownership of a disputed land at Mokimpur village under Krishnapur union of Manikganj Sadar upazila yesterday.
Of the injured, Nazrul Islam, 45, Nuru, 40, Bishu Mia, 55, Liton, 25, Russel, 25, Samu, 35, Malek, 33, Hasna Begum,35, Rahela, 45, Lily, 35, Shafi Munshi, 55, Jamal, 45 and Rafique,40 were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital while the rest given first aid.
The clash erupted when 20-25 people lead by Kadam Ali and Nuru Mia of the village attacked Dabir Uddin's son Abdur Rahim on the land at around 8:30am.
The feuding groups used lethal weapons during the clash, leaving at least 25 people from both sides injured.
Being informed, police went to the spot. No case was filed with Sadar Police Station as of filing of this report at 5:00pm yesterday.
