22 rescued from traffickers in Benapole

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) personnel rescued 22 people while they were being trafficked to India through Sadipur border under Benapole Police Station on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, a BDR team went to Sadipur border and rescued them. BDR personnel could not arrest any of the traffickers as they fled the scene, sensing the presence of paramilitary troops. The rescued people are Sefali khatun, 23, Rina khatun, 25, Pervin Begum, 26, Kalyani Mondol, 20, Binta, 18, Ratna Sarker,15, Sehab Ali, 4, Tahsin, 9, yasmin, 7, Rasida, 7, Erfan, 3, Sudipta,7, Faruk Sheikh, 23, Mohiuddin, 22, Ariful,19, kamal Hossain, 20, kamrul Islam, 28, Govinda, 29, chandra Biswas, 50, Siddeswar Boiragi,70, Mohammed Ali, 31, and Indrajit Sarker, 25. They hail from different areas of khulna and Chittagong divissions. BDR men later handed over the rescued people to Benapole Police Station. A case was filed in this connection. Our, Satkhira correspondent reported that Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on Bangladeshi cattle traders on Padmashakhra border in Debhata upazila early yesterday. The BSF of Soladana camp under Hasnabad Police Station fired four bullets on the cattle traders while they were returning to Bangladeshi with cattle at around 3:30 am on September 28. However, the cattle traders escaped unhurt.
