A suspected outlaw was killed allegedly by his rivals in Jhenidah yesterday while police arrested four alleged cadres of an outlawed party in Kushtia and Meherpur on Sunday night. A suspected member of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) was murdered allegedly by rivals in Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenidah early yesterday. Police arrested another suspected PBCP member, Haider Ali, in connection with the murder, hours after the incident yesterday, reports our correspondent. The deceased was identified as Chand Mia, 35, of Kutidurgapur village in Sadar upazila. Although he was a human hauler driver, police claimed that he was a PBCP man. Police suspected that Chand might have been killed over an internal feud of the party. Officer-in-charge of Jhenidah Sadar police station Sagir Miah, said a gang of PBCP men led by Kuddus Ali of Ashwasthali village, waylaid Chand at about 1:00am while he along with Haider was returning to his home from Kotchandpur on a motorbike. They picked up and slaughtered Chand and locals found his body at a nearby field in the morning, the OC added. According to our Kushtia correspondent, police arrested four cadres of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) faction Janajuddho from different areas of Kushtia and Meherpur on Sunday night. The arrestees were identified as two brothers Babul Biswas, 32, and Sahidul Biswas, 29, of Hidirampur, Jasimuddin, 24, of Barobaria in Mirpur in Kushtia and Enamul Haq of Hogolbaria in Gangni upazila in Meherpur. Police said separate teams raided different places and arrested the four outlaws. They were rounded up for their alleged connection with the abduction of Kushtia Government College student Rakibul Hasan on Tuesday. Police earlier arrested three others including a local journalist on the incident. A Kushtia court sent the three arrested outlaws to jail after police produced them before court yesterday.
