Sec 144 in Sirajganj
The authorities imposed Section 144 at Kadda crossing in Sadar upazila yesterday as union Awami League and BNP called meetings at the same venue and same time. UNO Mohammad Hossain said, local BNP called a meeting protesting the arrest and demanding immediate release of Rafiqul Islam Sarker, Saydabad union BNP president, at 3:00pm yesterday. Union Awami League also called a meeting at the same venue prompting local administration to impose section 144 in the area from 8:00am to 6:00pm in a bid to maintain law and order.
