Robbers loot house in broad daylight

Thirty-two tolas of gold and cash Tk 10,000, were looted in broad daylight on Monday from a lawyer's house close to police superintendent's residence. Advocate Shahidullah, who is also the vice-president of Satkhira District Lawyer Association said, his son, daughter and wife were staying in Dhaka. He lives in that house along with one of his nephews. At the time of robbery, the door was locked as the lawyer went to court along with his school-going nephew at around 10 am. On returning home Sadullah found his window grill broken and the robbers took away 32 tolas of gold, cash Tk 10,000 and Tk 5 lakh deposit from wardrobe and almirah. Satkhira police superintendent ASM Moniruzzaman and Sathkhira Sadar police station OC Shahjahan Khan were informed about the incident soon after it occurred. OC Shahjahan Khan visited the place. The gang looted goods worth about Tk 20 lakh, the owner of the house told police. The OC said, police arrested maid Chhobila Begum for quizzing. Police is trying to recover the looted goods, said Moniruzzaman.
